Online firmware updater

Upgrade your device online

This is a browser-based upgrade tool for your PiBOX. Plug the device into this computer with a USB-C cable and install the latest firmware straight from this page — there is nothing to download and nothing to install on your computer.

No software to install About two minutes Nothing changes until you confirm
1 Connect USB-C data cable from your PiBOX to this computer
2 Confirm We show you the device we found before writing anything
3 Reset Press RESET when it finishes, then set up Wi-Fi again
Before you start. Use Chrome, Edge or Opera on a desktop computer and a USB-C data cable — many charge-only cables will not work. Keep the cable connected until it finishes: this install replaces the whole firmware, so if it stops part-way your PiBOX will not start up until you run it again and let it complete.
PiBOX India devices only. This firmware is built for PiBOX hardware. Do not install it on any other device — it will not work.
How this works & troubleshooting
  1. Connect the PiBOX by USB-C — use a data cable; many charge-only cables will not work.
  2. Click Install now and pick your PiBOX in the browser prompt.
  3. Check what we found — we show you the device we detected and what will change. Nothing is written until you confirm.
  4. Leave it connected while it writes, about two minutes. Do not unplug.
  5. Press RESET when it finishes — your PiBOX waits until you do. Unplugging and replugging the cable works too.
  6. Set up Wi-Fi again — a full install clears saved settings, so your PiBOX will have forgotten your network.

Nothing is written until you confirm. Once writing starts it replaces the whole firmware, so if it is interrupted your PiBOX will not start up until you run the install again and let it finish. The hardware is not damaged and a completed install always recovers it. Open Technical details and use Copy log if you need to send us what happened.

Not detected? Hold the BOOT button while plugging the cable in, then click Install again. On Windows you may need CP210x or CH340 USB drivers.

Installing works in Chrome, Edge and Opera on a desktop computer. Other browsers cannot talk to USB devices — you can still download the file and use esptool.
